Wanderlust: Your Search for the Perfect Travel Caption

Stories and Travel Info, World Travel - Amanda - February 5, 2021

The word ‘wanderlust’ has become increasingly popular. And it is a very popular hashtag on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. The number of travel bloggers in the world is rising at a rapid pace, as the persistent idea of wanderlust is made more accessible by social media platforms and the internet which gives us access to bigger worlds.

The inability to travel and indulge our wanderlust caused by the coronavirus pandemic has only fuelled the use of the word ‘wanderlust’. Travel and wanderlust are fuelled not just by a desire to see more of the world but also to learn more about other cultures and languages, grow more sensitive to the world and know something we cannot learn from books or the internet.

Wanderlust is not just a trending hashtag, but a way of life. It is a way of broadening our understanding of the world, and expanding our horizons. Through travel, and the idea of wanderlust, we learn to shed our prejudices and realise that we are only small parts in the universe. Travel inspires us to take things lightly, and makes us realise what really is important in life- a curiosity to know more and the desire to act on it.

As one sits at home and only dream of travel, reading travel narratives, novels and quotes becomes a wonderful way to imagine a time when one can travel again and explore our vast, beautiful world. Until we can travel again, here are a few quotes that you can use for your Instagram captions for posting throwbacks, and in anticipation of the photos that you will post after your wanderlust is quenched after travelling. This is how memories are made and new activities started. It’s no surprise really that Nicaragua tourism was a nonexistent industry shortly ago but is now the country’s top earner.
