Experience a Maharaja style stay at Fort Jadhavgadh Heritage Hotel, Pune

Best Destinations, Travel Tips - Amanda - January 4, 2018

Westerners and many of the elite Indians would like to be pampered as a king whenever they stay in palatial hotels and resorts that are not far away from big cities. There is one such vacation destination option in fort jadhavgadh on the outskirts of Pune, the second biggest city in the state of Maharashtra, India and a four hours ride from Mumbai, the economic capital of India. It was a fort once, built for the kings of Marathas and now converted into a palatial heritage hotel where you will breathe the air of royal Marathas while staying in any one of the kingly accommodations and experience the true royal hospitality extended to the guests.

Location of Jadhavgadh

It is right on the Hadapsar-Saswad road and is 22 km from Pune City.

Before we look at the various types of accommodations in the fort turned resort, let us look at all the amenities of the hotel.

Amenities:

The hotel offers every modern0day amenities that we are used to that include Internet, restaurant, emergency medical service, and more,

Special hospitalities:

A modern spa where you get several kinds of body treatments such as tissue massage, Thai body massage, and hot stone massage to name a few.

Different types of accommodation

The staying options in Fort Jadhavgadh are starting from Maharaja Suite to royal tents.

Maharaja suite

Obviously, the most expensive, the Maharaja suite will match all your expectations. The view of the countryside and the distant hills from this top floor suite is said to be panoramic. The bathroom is fitted with a couple bathtub which means it can easily accommodate a couple. A true royal facility indeed!

Maharani suite

The royal spouse of the king must have originally stayed at this location because whoever stays in the Maharani suite can directly enter the spa for a personal pampering. The bathroom comes with a steam room.

Museum suite

It is situated one floor above the internal museum. The specialty of this museum suite is the free-standing bathtub in the bathroom.

Varsh suite

Ah, this is a superb facility in Fort Jadhavgadh heritage hotel. I think the rain shower room is one of a kind in India if not the world.

The rain shower room is actually an open-to-sky bathing area. The guests can enjoy a hot or cold shower while looking up the blue sky or gazing at the moon and stars depending on the time of the shower. Chhavni- Royal Tent

Sure it is a tent made of white fabric but look at the image below.

Wow! What a spacious looking tent. It is aptly named as ‘royal tent’. I could see a small wash basin too inside the tent..

Neem forest cottages

The 4 air-conditioned cottages are built amidst the Neem trees whose air is said to be medicinal.

Food

To satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst, there are several restaurants and bar. The ‘Aangan’ is an open-air dining area that serves authentic Maharashtra food and the Kund is a poolside bar

Conclusion:

Fort Jadhavgadh hotel is an ideal royal holiday resort near Mumbai and very close to Pune.

Good information about a lesser known holiday destination. Had you published a location map, it would have been useful since it is located in an interior place.
